One-on-one Counseling

Group and one-on-one Instruction

The standard delivery method for financial literacy information varies based on the audience. Financial planners typically provide information in a one-on-one setting, but lower-income families including Refugees and Immigrants rarely have access to financial planners, so they usually attends group classes or workshops.

The best delivery method for newcomers is to combine group instruction with one on one counseling. Group sessions are a good venue for presenting general information that applies to a variety of situations. One-on-one time allows for specific problems or questions to be addressed. Most people acknowledge that one-on-one method is the most effective for individuals to change their financial behavior.
